The Fort Lauderdale Orchid Society was founded in 1951. The purpose of the Society is to stimulate interest, provide education and enable exchange of information among those interested in the culture of orchids in all its aspects.

Jeff Adkins from Adkins Orchids here in Fort Lauderdale will be our speaker. Jeff is a former President of FLOS and American Orchid Society Senior Judge who has won awards for his plants and reknown for his orchid house counstruction.

These days many growers find that speaking to orchid societies is far less profitable and more time consuming than providing plants for restaurants or resorts. Getting speakers for the society is not a job that anyone would want to keep for more than a year, and as society members we can help the program chairman by attending meetings and letting the speakers know we appreciate their speaking to us.

Newsletter Advertising Available

To offset the costs of our printed newsletter, we are now accepting business card sized advertisements. The cost of a single ad is $20, or $200 for 12 issues. There will be a limit of 10 ads per issue except for December. All ads must be in by the 15th of any month. You can send your check to the PO box address found on the "Contact Us" page.
